JOB TITLE: Professional Medical Representative
DEPARTMENT: TPHA Sales
REPORTS TO: District Sales Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: None

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for meeting sales objectives, cultivating relationships with key customers and supporting the efforts of the district through the use of effective targeting, sampling and promotional materials.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Create and develop the maximum profitable sales of all company products that may reasonably be achieved in the assigned sales territory through regular and aggressive coverage of all professional contacts and sales outlets.
2. Build and maintain good will with the medical community, managed care organizations, state Medicaid officials, hospitals, other health center, and sales outlets so as to gain maximum understanding and acceptance of company products and policies.
3. Obtain satisfactory sales volume in accordance with established, budgeted goals.
4. Make regular, complete, and effective sales visits to all assigned physicians in the territory.
5. Routinely service retail outlets in the territory, obtaining maximum distribution of company products and information on the purchases of company and competitive products.
6. Remain highly knowledgeable and keep up-to-date on disease state information, product information, the competition, sales skills, current selling outlines, promotional aids, and other information required to achieve the sales goals established for the territory.
7. Maintain total compliance.
8. Manage all aspects of the territory and promptly exercise those administrative responsibilities required for the effective operation of the territory.
 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE TO DO THE JOB:

1. Bachelor's degree preferred.
2. A minimum of 2 years sales (or related) experience, preferably as a medical sales representative
3. Documented sales success, e.g. sales reports, awards, etc.
4. Licensed driver with a clean driving record.
5. Basic computer proficiency required.
6. Good judgment and decision making abilities.
7. Results and customer service oriented team player.
8. Excellent selling, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. A majority of the position requires travel
